Citrix Engineer

Job description

We are looking for a Citrix Engineer, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting.

In this position, you will administer, review and improve our Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops deployment. Additionally, you will drive solution design through research and evaluation with internal and customer teams, drive enablement with customers, integrate them into our environment, and maintain consistent, long-term engineering support. Finally, you will collaborate with supporting engineers by providing base implementation and documentation support and exhibit your own subject matter expertise.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform capacity planning, implementation, and support of our Desktop-as-a-Service and Application-as-a-Service managed services, based on Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, ADC, SD-WAN, MAS, MCS, Director

  • Support, troubleshoot, improve, and extend our desktop and application orchestration engine

  • Troubleshoot GPU applications running on top of our platform, and provide solutions to complex problems

  • Ensure a stable performance environment for multi-site infrastructure

  • Work with a team of technical experts in a collaborative manner

  • Update and validate Windows Server 2016/2019 templates with updated Citrix VDA and NVIDIA driver components

  • Execute Citrix component updates and assess risk and impact

  • Assist the operational team with creation of health checks to evaluate performance

  • Assist the QA team in end-to-end testing and test automation

  • Manage and monitor the health of the Citrix environment in conjunction with other disciplines to ensure uptime and performance of systems

  • Assist in customer on-boarding (templates, policies, printing, profile management)

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master in Computer Science or comparable studies and experience

  • Very good knowledge of the HDX 3D Pro remoting protocol and related policies

  • Good Powershell knowledge

  • Good knowledge of MCS deployment models

  • At least 1-2 years, with 3-5 years preferred, experience supporting Citrix VDI, experience supporting Citrix Netscaler, and additional experience in supporting, maintaining, configuring, and designing Citrix infrastructure including (but not limited to) XenDesktop 7.x, Virtual Apps and Desktops, MCS, StoreFront, ADC, SD-WAN

  • 2-5 years’ experience with a variety of disciplines including virtualization, compute, and network technologies

  • Experience with Active Directory, networking, cloud computing, and KVM is required

  • Experience with UEM (User Environment Management) is a plus

  • Experience with profile and application layering solutions is a plus

  • Experience with GPU-accelerated (NVIDIA, Intel, ATI) VDI is a plus
